On 2 December 2025, the EUVAC project was proudly represented at the HL7 Europe Working Group Meeting (WGM) panel on “Standards Supporting Health System Resilience”, hosted in Cologne, Germany.
The session brought together leading EU Joint Actions and flagship digital health projects, including CIRCE-JA, EUVABECO, myHealth@myHands, and representatives from HaDEA and the European Commission, to explore how interoperability and standardisation are powering the next generation of digital health services in Europe.
EUVAC was presented by:
- Sofia Terzi (IDIKA) – EUVAC Coordinator
- Marcello Melgara (UCSC / Regione Lombardia) – WP4 Co-lead and Semantic Task Force expert
Their presentation focused on the introduction of Vaccination History (VH) as a new FHIR-based service within MyHealth@EU Wave 10, highlighting:
- Alignment with EHDS and FHIR semantic models
- Use Case 1: Cross-border exchange of vaccination data via NCPeH
- Use Case 2: EUDI Wallet & QR-based proof-of-concept
- Role of SNOMED, IDMP, ISO codes, and national mappings
- End-to-end traceability, security, and ATNA compliance
The EUVAC team also shared plans for:
- Continued alignment with HL7 FHIR base profiles
- Contributions to a collaborative white paper on standards and resilience
- Piloting and rollout of citizen-controlled, interoperable vaccination services by end 2026
This session reaffirmed the strategic role of EUVAC in shaping secure, citizen-centric, and interoperable vaccination solutions across the European Health Union.
